To tackle the tough one first: Be Bono. Seriously. You'd be a rockin' Bono. Plus, you know the songs. Go for it.
As for coming back to the 'states, I'm hesitent to even voice an opinion on that. I can't imagine what it's like to be there (well, I can, but I'm probably wrong) and I don't really know what it's like here for you either. Personally, I think you should just swing by the united states for winter break (specifically charlottesville) and then decide from there. But this opinion is mostly me just selfishly wanting you back.

Well, I have to fly into the states when I leave Costa Rica. I´m trying to work it out so that I can spend a week in Virginia before I leave for Germany in December, but right now I´m not sure if that will happen.
