SV: Lexmas
Did anyone else mutter "gag me" to themselves a dozen times or so while watching this episode?
When Jonathan called Lex the finest man he knew?! Oh my God. Gaaaaaag me. Not in the happiest alternate universe would those words ever come out of his mouth. That was just waaaaaay over the top. Puleeze.
Just to get the shallow stuff out of the way -- How pretty was Lex? Oh my word. So very pretty. Gah. The lighting on him was incredible. The cinematographer must be madly in love with Michael. Just saying. *sigh*
Was it my imagination or did Lex look *more* happy to see Clark in his little "wonderful life" segment than he was to discover he was married to Lana? Seriously. Did you see the look of absolute *joy* on his face when he saw Clark at the Christmas tree place?
And how amazing was MR's performance during Lana's death? I was quite impressed. That man can take even the sappiest crap and make it work. He's freaking brilliant and that's all there is to it.

This episode was fun just for the Clark-Lex moments as far as I'm concerned.
I didn't really buy the final scene - Lex's declaration about power and money. Sorry. It fell flat for me. Yeah, Lex Luthor does believe that, but not because of some dream sequence he had while he was in surgery. That was just lame.
