I have learned a new thing!

Never, ever, NEVER EVER taste a piece of 40 year old 'trading card' gum. If you are tempted, DO NOT DO IT.

It fools you into thinking it might be OK. IT IS NOT!

My GOD I can't get the aftertaste out of my mouth! It tastes like a mummy's wrapping with a vinyl backing. AND IT WON'T GO AWAY!!

LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!! AVENGE ME!

I WOULD GLADLY EAT DONKEY KONG GUM Because that's like only 30 years old. maybe.

See, I was going thru stuff, and I found I had an entire box of 'fake tattoo' packs. The kind of thing cranked out during Star Wars Mania, dig?

Say, I've got some sealed packs of Star Wars cards and Star Trek the Motion Picture cards, I wonder...

NO! NO! DO NOT DO!

Oh, I opened plenty. But that was a time when I had some money so I indulged. I bought boxes of every Star Wars (ESB, ROTJ) card release. I was insane. Of course a full box was pretty cheap back then. I recall buying a couple of those 'uncut sticker sheet' things that showed up.

I tell you, I really do miss the gum from the Topps card packs. There was something utterly unlike any other bubble gum, that sugar powder, the way you could cut yourself on a broken piece, but it tasted SO GOOD.

It's a shame Topps never thought of releasing JUST the sticks of gum in a pack.
