Her husband. She had a one-night stand with the other guy (husband's best friend) and he lost it. Since they were still friends, they each claimed the other had done it and so there wasn't enough evidence to convict. Like 15 years later Dr. Lee figured it all out with the blood-spatter evidence.

I'd love to go into Forensic Anthropology, but all the grad schools for it are outside of Iowa.
