I would like you to know that I, Harry Potter, am not fooled.  I learned very young that "ignore the problem and it will go away" is advice that comes from only three sources (a) adults who know that a problem is technically their responsibility, but cannot be bothered to help you because they are lazy, corrupt, indifferent or incompetent (b)  ( Read more... )

ooc because I really can't think of a way for Remus to properly respond to this shabby_marauder September 15 2011, 17:11:44 UTC
You make Remus sad (but mostly because he's being called out on what he is).

So tell me: what will you do if the administration does nothing to help?

Ms. Bradford, did I ever say I imagined it would be easy? Or that I believed the authorities of the school to be just and passionate about student well-being? If they do nothing to help, I am prepared to do what any good citizen does in the face of administration apathy to a just cause - make a bloody nuisance of myself until someone listens. Do they not teach you history in America?

There's no need to get snippy, Mr. Potter. I was curious, and I did not insult your education.

You're quite right. My apologies, Ms. Bradford.

In my defense, I am having a very trying month, and I am inherently suspicious of "what then?" questions, as they are in my experience often asked to undermine a person's stated course of action. It was obviously irrational, and I am sorry, but just at that moment, you sounded quite like the voice of cynicism triumphant.

Like I said, it was all in my head and I'm sorry.
