Slow Down

I saw a sharp-shinned hawk today perched on a sign in my neighborhood Publix grocery store parking lot. It was not at all shy and I was able to stop just yards from the bird and look into its striking red eyes. I remember when I had the luxury of slowing down when I ran evening errands. When you know someone at home is likely gonna start wailing if you aren't back within a certain time frame, birdwatching at the grocery can be one of the first things to go by the wayside.

I counter your blanket "slow down," with a blanket, "if you're gonna be slow, stay the heck outta my way, thanks, I've got places to be."

Seriously. I've got a sock puppet and everything. See, I take the time to make puppets and fully appreciate life in all its slow summer molasses glory. Right, Emilio?
