I figure it’s time to give these fic-writing brain cells a bit of an exercise, ready for the go_exchange which is looming ever closer. So here’s a lil’ ficlet I wrote the majority of in work.

Title: Lucky Hand
Fandom: Good Omens
Word count:1,100
Summary: Playing poker with a demon.
Warnings: None, seriously. This is the most harmless fic I’ve wrote in a ( Read more... )

This is sirius_luva, who is too lazy to log out and back in as herself. xP And has a disconcerting habit of referring to herself in third person, apparently.

I LOVED this! At first it seems like a typical, "Crowley, you bastard" scene (and I'm one to talk, I have written Crowley eating mice) but then I had my suspicions, which were confirmed by the sight of the four funnels! Ha, Crowley does a good deed and saves a young couple's lives, but justifies it to himself anyway, trying to preserve that 'I'm a big bad demon' crap; there's that spark of good, trying to hide behind a veneer of evil, and it is so Crowley I literally went, "Awww!" at it.

Awesome fic! To the Memories it goes!

Referring to yourself in the third person is what all the cool kids do. Trufax.

Aww thank you, I'm glad you liked it. He really does try so hard to hide that spark of goodness, but it'll pop out regardless.

... Only on the Internet would she be considered cool. xD She is very amused.

Yes, you really got him down pat. I'm re-reading The Book now and your fic came to mind a few times. ;)

As soon as you mentioned the ship, I knew it. Awwwwww, Crowley.

Still a bad deed. He's doing it because...dead people are no fun? He can wrangle something out of Aziraphale in exchange? Individual tempting sucks in general?

Course it all comes down to the fact that he really likes people and Aziraphale giving him that little "really, dear" smile.

In summary, I am amused. HE'S SO CUTE.

Exactly. He'll always find some sort of excuse. It's what he does.

I liked the way the man was tempted. To lie to his wife, to mug his lost money and tickets back. And how he consciously decided every time not to do it. He earned to be saved from an icy dead.
Very well done. Thank you. :-)

Thank you, I'm glad someone spotted that. I was trying to be subtle with the tempting :D

Oh I really really loved reading that! I can't help but wonder if Crowley did it on purpose, or accident, but I like that he counts it as one he'd owed the angel, after all. *amused* I heart Crowley Does Good stuff - and you KNOW I love your Crowley anyhow XD
