If you take a roaring flame and give it very little oxygen, how long do you suppose it would take for it to reduce to flickering embers?

What do you mean by roaring flame? Flame as in the kind you get with a bunsen burner, or flames as in what you get with a bonfire?

Different question then - is this related to Iron Chef?

I hate trying to figure out if the answer to a question is metaphorical or not. I'm always wrong. And then the purple bunnies actually come. And they bite me.

maybe not long but a little oxygen can make it burst up in no time, or possibly gasoline, or oil, or 151, it takes only a spark to start a roaring CONFLAGRATION (I wanted to use that word real bad). I've little idea what this may be metaphorizing, but....i think in most situations this holds true, if not useful.
