There is only one ticket left in the entire joint (not a very good one at that). Since I don't have any mode of transportation and I can't bring a friend (who would drive us), this is clearly not feasible...

Maybe one day I'll meet him in NYC...while applying for some culinarian job at the food network kitchens.

I think you should write to him. Tell him about yourself, how much you love him, how excited you were when you found out and how sad you were when you were unable to get tickets. Worth a shot, no? Multiple letters, even better. Email, snail mail...
