I thought Bush klobbered kerry (yes, klobber with a k) quite a few times. There were some times when kerry said something and bush kinda "umm"-ed but bush made some really good points and while they both brought up their usual campaign rhetoric, kerry kept saying "vietnam" as a sort of buzzword on iraq and his GLORIOUS MILITARY SERVICE
Kerry answered in full every question, answered crisp and directly. He even made straight attacks at Bush and Bush didn't address any of them. I'm not saying this only because I'm rooting for Kerry, I'm saying this because it was obvious.
All Bush could say was what's in his heart and what he thinks is right, but I never really follow someone that doesn't realize they are making a mistake, and not trying to at least acknoledge they are making a mistake.
We shouldn't be in Iraq, and I don't feel safe that we are concentrating on them and not Al Quida. Kerry is right about homeland security as well. Our borders aren't safe and Bush is concentrating on a war that his father started and didn't finish.
Not only my opinion, but opinion of mass majority and political figures agreeing that Kerry swept Bush into a dust pan and threw him out.
i agree with you whole-heartedly. i think that one of bush's lowest points was the fact that the only line of defense for himself was saying that kerry was a "flip-flopper." and while he may have been, he took a stance in that debate and i think that struck through to a lot of people. and in kerry's defense, as being a flip-flopper, i think it's only natural for democrats TO flip-flop. my reasons being this
( ... )
I was watching them here and there, and I think Kerry practice a lot with answering quickly. Bush would crack jokes a lot and I think that is what brought him donw in the ratings. But either way I still do not know if I am voting at all. Kerry kept bring up the subject about how we are not suppose to be in the war anymore, and I think that is why people are liking him. People are sick of war and want a clean face in the office. Personally I think he needs a face lift.
Notice that Bush didn't contradict Kerry when he mentioned that the troops were over there guarding oil refineries and not the hospitals, schools, borders, etc...
Bush didn't say one word to refute that. I think that was the most important part of the debate.
