Han Geng/Sungmin - of sorts (Super Junior)
G, 417.

This was supposed to be the first of several drabbles based off of Intimate Note, but it got too long and I wasn't sure where I was going with it. I also lost the motivation to write all but one of the others, heh.

Not x-posted because I'm not pleased with it, but I can't look at it any longer without screaming. Or trying to put my head through the monitor.

.

Geng still remembered the night Heechul returned from filming Idol World with half of the other members, pretending to be annoyed at how pretty Sungmin was as a woman. Sungmin flushed, face already scrubbed clean of feminine makeup and dressed in his own jeans and loose shirt, and Geng just smiled and told Heechul that if it wasn’t obvious that he was fishing for compliments he would’ve said that Heechul made a pretty fabulous girl himself. Heechul struggled for a moment in deciding whether or not he would take the compliment or the insult and decided on the former, much to Geng’s relief.

He’d watched that episode with the rest of the members when it came out, and Sungmin had laughed along with the rest of them when he’d come out on the screen in a long wig and a clingy bodysuit. There was one moment, though, when Geng had glanced across at Sungmin instead of watching the performance, and the carefully blank expression on his face had made Geng turn back to the screen, an odd feeling in the back of his mind and a question on the tip of his tongue.

He forgot about that night and only remembered it vaguely as they filmed Intimate Note. Hyukjae was surprisingly passable as a girl, and Heechul, of course, was ridiculously pretty when cross-dressing - Geng had almost come to expect it, when he held out the qipao for Heechul to wear (garnering a smirk and a, “You have a thing for Chinese clothing, don’t you?”), and yet he was always taken aback by just how girly Heechul could seem. His liking for traditional clothing aside, Heechul would always be a puzzle to him, an enigma that he wasn’t sure he’d ever make sense of.

And then Sungmin stepped out, awkward in knee socks and a schoolgirl’s pleated skirt, and something in Geng ached a little, sudden and unexpected (though not painfully - that was when Youngwoon came out).

The thing about Sungmin wasn’t that he was particularly attractive when dressed as a woman. His body wasn’t slender and androgynous like Heechul’s or Hyukjae’s could be. Four years after debut, he was slightly stocky and certainly male, built like a boy with muscular legs and a narrow waist; but with the self-awareness and uncertainty that took the edge off his every movement, the self-consciousness that lingered in the corners of his overconfident smirk... Geng thought he looked especially lovely, though he’d never say so to Sungmin (or to Heechul).
