Okay, just saying. I LOVE YOU
Dude, as many times as I have watched each and every episode of SPN, there is NEVER a time where I am okay with that decision. I mean, these two, I know they are morosely self-sacrificing, and let's face it, we love that in them. But love also breeds this, desperate need of eachother, stumbling into eachother because we cannot live or see the path in front of us. Would it kill the writers to give us a feel good here an there???? I am so with you, no pairing has ever caused me such anguish. They are completely a part of my life, my family, and even if show won't give us outright canon, I think after 4 seasons of this, we could get some type of relief here LOL!!!
I love this already, I will be anxiously waiting for the next installment. Thank you so much for this.

Weirdly enough, having written most of this fic, I think I actually have MORE of an appreciation for season 6/7 than I ever did before--it's a lot of work to make something so massive, and it still physically PAINS me how much pain all our boys get put through in those seasons, but there are some really gorgeous episodes strewn through all that horribleness. Man, the show BETTER give us outright canon. Someday. What the heck else could they be building up to? The entire arc of season 8 would seem totally ridiculous if Dean/Cas isn't endgame, eventually.

Great start. I always wondered by Castiel avoided talking to Dean for a year (between Season 5 and Season 6)... he's retired, not dead, right? I'm excited to read more.
