I'd wondered about how easily Sam agreed to take his soul back if they could free it from the cage, but I never expected quite such a heartwrenching outcome. I thought maybe he'd just leave or something.
But Sam miscalculated, didn't understand just how much Cas means to Dean, didn't consider that there might be something important enough for Dean to pull the trigger this time when he'd never been able to before.
I thought Bobby's pov was particularly poignant with the way it started and ended with a tally of his sons :(.
