Aww... I'm sorry your dream won't be quite the same, but travelling with your sister will hopefully turn out to be awesome too! I guess the thing is, that even if you're not scared or innocent any more, bad things can definitely happen while travelling. Some people are lucky and have a great time when they go alone, but it can often be a great help to have someone along. Maybe I'm just not brave enough to travel alone XD

i mean, i did want someone to go with me in the beginning but when no one went forward, i kind of just built myself up to traveling alone, getting more excited about the prospect. Maybe another time :)

Aw man, that really sucks. I'd be really annoyed/disappointed if it was me. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time nonetheless though! :)

i was just slightly disappointed but i guess having someone there to share the experience with should be fun too. :)

I like to travel on my own....but sometimes it is more fun to travel with someone else. Also when problems happen its good to have someone to help you out.

Been there, done that. My folks never wanted me to travel by myself for the longest time, either. But eventually they realized that at some point in my life I have to become independent, so they don't try and hold me back anymore. Hopefully one day your folks will realize this, too, and you can enjoy traveling alone :)

they let my sis travel alone, but she's 10 years older than me and an extrovert while my mom used to introduce me to her friends as 'the daughter who lives in a cave' because they'll be confused at this extra daughter that they've never seen before. i can see where they have their reservations lol.
i'm sure it is just a matter of time :) i'll just keep them happy for now..
