We don't have such an intensity of nationalism and ideology as long-standing countries do in Europe. I find it a bit drawn out that our politics constantly fight for the upper hand and there is never full agreement, but I think it's smart to consult the scale before making decisions. I know Europe is quick to make leaps of advancement. They support their neighbors, and in return receive help when needed. American allies seem sparse these days, and I think we're just a little too proud. However, while it takes ages for this country to make advances, when we do they are bold. Large shifts in technology, science and medicine often come from this country. I think we're slow to "get on the band wagon", but that doesn't mean there aren't great strides of progression. Sometimes, I do wish America would be a little more socialist just for the fact that I can not stand so much disparity and pride, greed, etc. But I don't ever see a shift like that here because I think disparity actually creates greater opportunities. Alaska has a strong political group that wants to succeed as well. I think it's called the Alaska Independence party, (though I could be incorrect). They're so sure that with oil industry, they could be an independently wealthy country. How goddamn stupid are they? We SURVIVE off of the U.S. Them is idiots.

I really, REALLY wish Texas would follow through on its threat to secede. I double wish that we had let the South go during the Civil War.
