I've been wanting to update in ages. saturday is never quite the sabbath
I'll admit; i like the new LJ navigation strip. It's fiendishly difficult to get from my flist to the 'Update Journal' page otherwise (i have to go through my userinfo and, as everyone knows, the 3.65 s lapse is enough to kill off 89% of quality post-bunnies.)

I'm so excited about life! No idea why, since every single teacher's making it painfully explicit to us that prelims are in seven weeks and that if we don't start sometime this minute, it's curtains. I'm actually quite upbeat about my studies. The new strategy is to pay maximum attention during lectures and read Asimov at home.

I am currently reading How To Travel With A Salmon by Umberto Eco and it's highly amusing. There are "articles" on 'how to use the taxi driver', 'how to not talk about soccer', 'how to watch out for widows', 'how to recognize a pornographic film', etc. but my favourite is a spoof on the American military written as a series of dispatches between ( Read more... )
