I am going to become a sex therapist and liscensed psychologist specializing in physically disabled people.
Sexuality is something that has been denied to this population, and it is something I am going to work to give back.
I am still going to take some journalism classes though, so I could do free lance stuff.

so, in short...the MSW provides the community and the personal where the psychology provides just the personal approach. I prefer the both and i'd imagine you do too.

Ideally I am hoping to work with disabled adolescents and young adults, and teach them that they do have a sexuality, a right to be sexual, and how to use it. This would be through various workshops on confidence, the body, and accessible techniques they can use.
I have found that when a person is born with a disability their sexuality is kind of taken from them, and you have to fight to get it back, and it can be a very painful fight so I am just hoping to lessen the load. I hope through sex positive work shops, these people can go out with a new confidence and have more willing partners, because i think confidence has a big part to do with it.
In Italy, there is this advocacy website and it publishes racy calenders featuring women in wheel chairs, i think that is really awesome also and I would not mind starting something like that eithier... kind of like a "see we are sexy and all up in your face" statement.
On another note, how are you??
