Life as it is and Wedding _Planning_

Life is going as usual; work got busier because my original program is on hold and now I'm helping everybody else in my group (who are themselves buried with extra programs due to earlier layoffs). I had never had a perfect wedding planned either. All I knew when my husband and I got engaged was that I wanted my friends there, and a little bit of medevial-fantasy flair.

I tend to do things on a more artistic level than a technical level. When I knew I was getting married, I looked at dresses until I found one that I thought was beautiful and that I would look good in. The cake topper and other accessories for that are pewter dragons. (my mom wasn't so sure about those but I was!) I looked through cake designs until I found one I thought was nice. But I never had things planned, you know? I just sort of....winged the whole thing.

Sometimes that's the nicest way. It worked for us!

Dress: "Oh, here's a pretty blue dress on sale for thirty dollars! Twenty-five with my discount!"

Cake: "We were thinking of having a small party at your restaurant...what, your wife bakes cakes? Cheesecake? Yes please!"

Photos: "Oh, Susan, you brought the camera? Cool!"

Like that. : )
