Prom Dress RAGE

Jesus Fucking Christ on a bicycle, WHY are nice prom dresses so expensive?!

So, as some of you may know, I'm going to be going to prom with Lars this weekend. I think that I can honestly say that I have never felt very pretty in my entire life, so I wanted to take a chance like Senior Prom and use it as a chance to. Unfortunately for me, prom is not for poor people. All of the nice dresses that I could find at the department stores and such (that actually covered my ass) were a MINIMUM of $150. Now, I may just have expensive taste in clothes, but that's fucking ridiculous. How much wear is anyone really going to get out of these things? They're going to wear them once, maybe twice, and then they'll sit in closets collecting dust forever. It's just so stupid that they cost so much! I should have gone to that Cinderella Affair thing when I had the chance. I could have gotten a nice dress for free. Of course I didn't know about it until afterward though. :/

ANYWAY.
I went browsing through department stores all day on Sunday and found nothing that I really loved that was priced decently. I ended up going to a consignment store near my house and I bought a decent looking Windsor dress for $10, not bad.. not bad at all. I also have the dress that a friend of mine gave me several months ago, and the dress I wore to prom last year. I really can't figure out which to wear, so I'd like some help in deciding...

Please excuse the MySpace quality photos and my shitty hair. >__<;;

Dress #1 - Short Windsor dress

- It's cute, but too big on me. I have to pull the top up a lot to be sure that I'm not falling out.
- I think I need some kind of shawl or something to go across my back/arms.
- I have glittery sandals from last year that sort of match this, but I always feel weird having totally bare legs and think I need something on them.
- The other option besides the sandals was to be completely informal and wear lace leggings and combat boots. Much more comfortable... but I know my mom will want pictures, and Lars said his mom and some other people (idk who D: ) would want some too, and I'm not sure I want to be remembered as dressing like trash. D:

Dress #2 - Long Masquerade dress

- I think this dress is super plain and boring but I still kind of like it and I'll wear it.
- The only issue is that it JUST fits me, like.. it's super formfitting everywhere but the chest. The chest part slides down, but not to the point where it'll fall off or anything, it just bunches up the fabric a bit. Because it just barely fits my waist/hips, the fabric rides up there as well.
- More uncomfortable, but more formal.
- More flattering to my body, I think, but bordering on the "you are too big for that dress" thing.
- Also, none of my shoes look good with this dress.

Dress #3 - Long Turquoise thing

- I wore it last year and I didn't like it that much then, and I still don't now. It's decent, but I don't think I want to wear the same thing again.
- I do have the matching purse and shoes to this though and it fits nicely.

Soooo.. yeah... Help me pick a dress please? D:
Also, I want to do my hair and makeup nicely too.. but I suck at that kind of stuff, so I don't really know what to do for that either. If I were to get my hair done at a salon it would be at least $25... I don't think I want to spend that much on my hair. It's times like this that I need a nice girly wig. XD;
