The Thief Bride
By S.F. Puurin

Chapter One

Selina grew up in a small shack in the City of Gotham. Her favorite pastimes were running around on rooftops stealing things and tormenting the Batman who fought crime on them. His name was Bruce, but she never called him that.

(Isn't that a wonderful beginning?)

Nothing gave Selina as much pleasure as tormenting Bruce.

"Richboy, You're a part of the night just like I am."

"You're a Thief."

"You're a Thief" was all he ever said to her.

"Richboy, can't you let me go just this once? I did help you after all."

"You're a Thief."

That day she was amazed to discover that when he was saying "You're a thief," what he meant was, "I love you."

"About time you figured that out."

(Ok, Yes there'd be kissing here... and considering the characters possibly something more. I leave that to your imaginations.)

Bruce could not bring himself to marry, since he had sworn an oath to fight crime, and he was not willing to risk her safety. So, in order to hide from his feelings he left the city to train his skills. It was a very emotional time for Selina.

(I don't believe I'm writing this either.)

"I fear I will never see you again."

"..."

"What if something happens to you?"

"I will always protect my city." He did not add the "and you," but he felt it in his heart, and she knew him well enough to tell.

"But how can you be sure?"

"I swore an oath."

Bruce didn't reach his destination. His ship was attacked by the dread pirate Batman, who never left captives alive. When Selina got the news that Bruce was murdered,

(WOOHOO! PIRATES! ARRRRRRRR!)

she went into her room and shut the door, and for days she neither slept nor ate.

"I will never love again."

Notes: Yeah. I should never be allowed to write when I didn't sleep the night before. This plot bunny's been haunting me for months. At this rate it might take a while before I get to the part that's actually torturing me. As it is... it's a SHAMELESS, SHAMELESS rip-off/parody/bastardization of one of the greatest movies ever made. Well, should I ever get that far, just wait till you see who Inigo is.
