It was just too much; Hikaru couldn’t handle it. Had he been that easy to read? Did Keito know? Inoo had said the younger boy was absolutely clueless to the whole thing, but Hikaru wasn’t so sure anymore. Stumbling down the hallway with his hand clutched onto his shirt reminded him that maybe Inoo had been right earlier; if his heart kept pounding this fast something bad might really happen to him. Chancing a glance behind him, Hikaru saw the hallway was empty and sighed as he slid himself onto the floor.
“What am I doing?” The confused boy threw his head into his hands and released a long sigh. I thought I was trying to accept my feelings, he thought to him self, not run from them. “This isn’t going like I’d planned at all…”
Trying to calm down, Hikaru began to think of all the most relaxing things he could: the soft pitter patter of the rain on the window he sat under, the hum of the overhanging old lights, the way Keito’s eyes reached down into his innermost thoughts and captivated his very soul.
Wait…
“Gah! That doesn’t help at all!” Hikaru pounded lightly on his forehead with his closed knuckles as he tried to still his trembling heart and not think of Keito. “It’s impossible…” He sighed, giving up and let memories of the younger member flood his senses.

Yabu smiled as he watched the younger Keito leave the room with a worried air. “Do think he’ll do it?”
Inoo shrugged, “He’d better. Pretending to be mean was tough…”
Yabu snorted and gave a slight push to Inoo’s shoulder, “Like you even tried. I bet that was your real nature right there!”
Giving a pathetic pout Inoo turned away from his older band member, “I can’t believe you would say something like that!” Relaxing his posture he gave a sad sigh, “Although I was hoping to use plan C. Genius plan that was!”
Rolling his eyes Yabu flicked Inoo’s forehead, “Inoo, cheese whiz is not going to make Hikaru confess.”
“I’d like the think I can dream Yabu…”

Sigh after sigh left Hikaru’s taught lips as he frowned into his knees. This was impossible! How was someone supposed to deal with these types of feelings? This was nothing like the crushes he’d had in elementary school. He’d supposed most boys had already confronted these problems and learned how to cope, but he wasn’t most boys. He wasn’t normal by any means; being a Johnny prevented that.
“…stunted my emotional growth…” He said out loud to himself then promptly shoved his head back into his hands with a frustrated snort, “Now I’m blaming my problems on being a Johnny…pfft! I’m so pathetic…”
Just as he was preparing to go into another brutal round of self loathing, he’d heard footsteps coming down the hallway. “Hikaru? Are you here?”
Oh no…not Keito, he thought to himself, anyone but Keito. Not giving it any thought, Hikaru jumped up from his spot before Keito rounded the corner and looked for a way out of the coming situation only to spot an emergency exit leading downstairs or to the roof. He high tailed it to the door and ran inside, hoping to loose the younger member.
Dashing up the stairs he only got up two flights before he’d heard the door open and close once more. He stopped to listen, hoping the boy would head down instead of up but felt his heart speed up as the rushed footsteps got closer and not further. With renewed strength Hikaru ran up the stairs two at a time, willing himself not to slow down lest Keito catch up with him.
As he reached the top of the building, he glanced down in between the bars down the flights of stairs to see Keito peering back up at him at the same time. Even three flights below the younger members brown eyes shot right through him like a bullet to the brain. Hikaru fought the overwhelming urge to just sink to the floor and give up the chase. Once his eyes glanced over the rest of Keito’s worried face, his heart threatened to fly right out of his chest. Throwing his hand over his fluttering heart, he willed it to be still to no avail.
He couldn’t handle it anymore and turned around to the door behind him that lead to the roof, only to curse him self as a gust of wind nearly blew him back inside and the heavy rain stained the front of his jersey a dark blue. Looking for somewhere to hide he braved the storm and stepped out into the pelting rain.

Keito’s breath came in short puffs as he reached the last flight of stairs in pursuit of his older band mate. What was up with Hikaru? This was unlike him to outright run away without saying anything. Seeing the puddle of rain water on the floor from when Hikaru had opened the door he hesitated. He would even go out in this storm to get away from me? Doubt filled his mind and he wondered if he should just go get someone else if Hikaru really didn’t want to see him.
Feeling the beat of the rain through the door as his hand rested on the cold metal Keito decided it was much too dangerous to leave Hikaru out there all alone. Bracing himself, Keito placed his hand on the handle of the door and opened it.
For Hikaru…

Huddled in the corner next to the side of the building with his knees pulled to his thudding chest and his head bent low Hikaru strained his ears to hear if the emergency exit door opened.
Once he’d stepped out onto the roof, he’d realized there wasn’t anywhere else for him to go. That he had effectively trapped himself. And there wasn’t anywhere he could hide from Keito here on the empty roof. His slapdash plan to run away had failed miserably. All he had to do now was wait for Keito to catch up with him; which happened more suddenly than he’d expected.
“Hikaru! Are you crazy?!” Hikaru felt firm hands on his shoulders and looked up against his will. Seeing Keito kneeling over him, he lost all will to speak. “Hikaru…what’s going on?” The older boy almost couldn’t hear him over the storm even though his lips where moving. “Why are you running from me? What did I do?”
Seeing the sadness in the younger boys eyes Hikaru spoke, “…nothing…”
“What? I can’t hear you.” Keito had raised his voice to be heard.
Hikaru looked away and tried to shrug Keito’s hands off his shoulders, “It’s nothing! Leave me alone!” Trying to stand he feebly pushed the younger boy away.
Keito refused to let him move as he pressed harder on Hikaru’s shoulders, pushing him back down into a sitting position, “You don’t mean that…”
The older member continued to struggle against Keito’s hands to no avail, “Let me up!”
Hikaru stilled as he felt the rain that had been beating against him subsided and looked up to see Keito shielding him from it. “No. I won’t.” Hikaru didn’t have the time to retaliate as Keito leaned down and closed the distance between them with his lips. Hikaru got his wish for his heart to slow down as it stopped altogether.
The kiss didn’t last long as Keito pulled back almost instantly and threw his hard gaze right to Hikaru’s eyes. Hikaru couldn’t process any thought as he gazed back, wide eyed, at Keito hovering over him; face sopping from the rain, hair plastered to his forehead. He had never been more beautiful. Hikaru’s gaze dropped down to the other boy’s parted lips and remembered the feel of them against his own.
Unable to control himself Hikaru threw himself at Keito, their lips colliding together in another kiss. Keito didn’t pull away as he returned the kiss with just as much fervor. All of Hikaru’s pent up frustration and feeling suddenly released itself as his lips pressed harder against the younger boy’s.
His stomach twisted as Keito caught his bottom lip between his own and proceeded to do the same to the top as well. Using one hand to support himself from falling over the younger member who was lying underneath him, Hikaru’s other hand found its way to Keito’s face and slowly slid down to rest on his neck. He felt Keito’s pulse beating as hard and fast as his own.
Hikaru gave a small whine as Keito pulled back for air. He gazed down at Keito through his bangs that now hung down in wet tendrils. “You knew…” Keito only gave a small nod. “For how long?”
“A while,” the younger boy gave him a small knowing smile.
“I must be really obvious,” Hikaru said with a slight chuckle, but sobered up and gave Keito an intense look, “Do you…you know, like me?”
“No.”
Hikaru gave him a confused look, “But what about just now…” He looked away and tried to get up, but Keito’s hand on his shoulder stopped him.
The hand slid from his shoulder to his neck and pulled him close, once more a few inches from Keito’s face and said, “I don’t like you, I love you.” And then closed the gap between them once more.
Authors note: The much awaited confession scene finally! And the longest chapter I’ve written yet! I hope it was alright…I couldn’t help adding in that little bit with Yabu and Inoo…oh how I love Inoo in this…he’s such a nasty! LOL When I first thought of this story it was because of some imagining I had been doing on the bus on the way to school (Lame I know…) and I thought of the kiss in the rain on the rooftop. I FINALLY got to write it! Yay! I hope it’s a good chapter…I wanted it to be rather intense, and it sort of wrote itself. I love it when that happens! No really, I sat down and hour and a half ago with only the last chapter and the rooftop scene in my head! Everything else just sort of appeared with out warning…XD And just so you know…THIS IS NOT THE LAST CHAPTER! I couldn’t do that to you guys! I’ve got a few more ideas for this…it needs just a little bit more drama don’t you think? Things have been running just a little too smoothly…
