Chapter 9
With an apprehensive look in his eyes Hikaru stepped passed the threshold into Johnny’s office. In his mind, coming to Johnny’s office was only a sign of bad news; not once had he ever enjoyed a visit to the man. And he didn’t think this time would be an exception. Not knowing what to expect Hikaru stepped up to his desk and raised his eyes to meet that of Johnny’s.
“So Hikaru-kun, it’s been a while,” the old man’s withered eyes wrinkled in pleasure as he smiled, Hikaru didn’t know how to take it, “If I recall, the last time we spoke Yabu had to restrain you. Not your best moment…”
Hikaru cringed at the backhanded comment but quickly regained his composure, “Yes…I regret my actions on that day.” As Hikaru bowed low their eyes lost contact, “my deepest apologies.”
“Aw well, what’s past is past. Is it not?” Johnny’s smile hadn’t changed and Hikaru couldn’t determine if it was something he need to wary of or not. “How are getting along in JUMP now? I hear you’re rather close with Okamoto.” This wasn’t a question it was a statement, being handed to him by Johnny. “Well, it’s good you’re getting settled in. But that’s a conversation left for another day…”
The nervous Hey! Say! JUMP member wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans and held himself back from letting out a relieved sigh. He and Keito were safe, for now.
Johnny cleared his throat and continued, “We both know that I don’t like to beat around the bush so I’ll just say it. I want Hey! Say! JUMP to have a concert this spring.”
Hikaru’s eyes widened considerably with shock, “Really?! Us?! That’s great!” He couldn’t keep the smile out of his voice. “But,” he voice trialed off, “why tell only me?”
“That,” Johnny addressed his question, “is because I want you to produce this concert.” The old man said no more and no less as he let the statement wash over Hikaru.
“Me?” Hikaru pointed to himself in disbelief, “Why me? Why not Yabu or…or…” The questions died in his throat.
“Do you not want to do it?” Johnny gave his an incredulous look, “I’ll rephrase the question; Do you want to produce this concert?”
There was no hesitation this time, “Yes.”
The old man smiled, “Well that’s good! Because you are. Now go start planning, and tell the rest of JUMP about it too.”

“You guys! Everyone!” The entire dressing room fell to silence as Hikaru bounded back into the room, “I just spoke to Johnny!”
The other members all gave him horrified looks as they threw questions at him, “What happened?”
“We aren’t suspended are we?”
“He didn’t do anything to you did he?”
Hikaru glanced around him looking for a way out of the mob of members surrounding him not knowing what to do. Hearing a loud whistle from the back of the crowd Hikaru look up to see Keito waving his hands, “Why don’t we hear what he has to say before we start making assumptions.”
Hikaru pushed himself through the mob and made his way to his savior, “Thank you Keito,” turning he addressed the rest of the band, “You guys…WE’RE HAVING A SPRING CONCERT!” Silence followed his exclamation, then Yamada let out a loud whoop and the rest followed with loud cheers and shouts.
Hikaru watched with excitement as the members bounced around and hugged each other. Taken by surprise, Hikaru stumbled as someone launched themselves onto his back. “Ne Hikari-chan? Did you hear? We’re having a concert!” The surprised boy looked over his shoulder to see Inoo latched onto him.
“I was the one who told you!” Hikaru retorted, but spun in a happy circle with Inoo attached to him anyway. Letting out a joyous yell along with the others Hikaru tripped and fell with Inoo on his back. They both looked at each other in silence for a moment then laughed out loud and helped each other up.
After pulling Inoo from the floor Hikaru looked around and spotted Keito with a wide grin on his face as he watched Ryutaro and Chinen holding hands and jumping around in a circle. Walking up to his boyfriend Hikaru slung an arm over his shoulder and planted a kiss on his cheek. “You look as excited as I feel.”
“I am!” Keito beamed back.
Hikaru chuckled at his uncharacteristic loudness, “Good because tonight, lets celebrate!”

After everything had wound down and the rest of the members had left Keito found him self seated at a cheep ramen stand and forced himself to remember that Hikaru was a simple minded person. This was as celebratory as it was going to get. Sighing contently Keito pulled apart his chopsticks and began eating.
“Say,” Hikaru started with a mouth full, “tomorrow is Saturday and we get off early,” Keito resisted the urge to laugh as Hikaru slurped a bite of noodles and one flipped up and got caught on his nose, “why don’t we go do something together?”
Feeling a warm glow fill him from head to foot Keito gave a gentle smile and nodded lightly, “that sounds like a great idea.”
“Good! It’s like our first date or something!” Hikaru grinned and leaned forward to poke the younger member’s cheek with his still wet nose, “where to?”
Fighting the urge to blush Keito shrugged, “I don’t care, why don’t you pick?”
“I want you to, that’s why,” Hikaru pulled away and pouted, “or is that too much to ask?”
Rolling his eyes, Keito couldn’t help but give in, “alright, fine. I’ll pick, but its secret until tomorrow.”
“Fine with me!” The older boy smiled and resumed eating happily. Nothing could ruin his mood now.
“But,” the younger started with a question in his voice, “why did Johnny-san only call for you and not the rest of us?”
Hikaru coughed and sputtered as he remembered the rest of what he was supposed to tell everyone, “I forgot to say!” Giving his chest one last pat Hikaru turned to Keito, “he asked me to produce the concert.”
Author’s Note: Hello minna!!! I hope I didn’t burst too many bubbles with this…I know a lot of you were hoping Johnny would try to break them up…but that’s overused don’t you think? I’ll come at you from the side when you least expect it! Hahaha…sill evil over here! LOL I know this isn’t how it went in real life, but for the sake of plot why don’t we mess things up a little bit? Sorry, no really cute scene in this chapter…maybe next time? Also...I made a banner for the story!!! Do you like it? I love that photoshoot, it's almost my favorite...not quite sure which one is...I'm so indecicive...XD
