The third chapter for Kare ja Nai Kedo was released a few days ago (thank you, Neon Samurai Works!), and after reading it, I realized that I truthfully can’t remember what the Warui series is about (aside from all things Nanao related, of course). So I decided to reread everything (instead of studying for a midterm because I can) and comment a bit. This won’t be as long as my Mujihi rants since I’ve not much love for MikadoxTowa, and ShinonomexYuki just can’t compare to the sheer wonderfulness that is KuonxNanao. And even though it'll mainly be on the rest of the Warui series, it is still chock-full with KuonxNanao goodness ^.^

So I first started the entire Warui series because I came across Kirai ja Nai Kedo on Baka-Updates (can’t remember what I was looking for) and was instantly blown away from the cover. Of course, since that was just a sequel, I decided to just read everything (everything that was scanlated) in order. Though back then, ‘everything’ just consisted of Warui Koto Shitai, Kirai and Koi ja Nai Kedo, a couple of chapters from the other MikadoxTowa stories, and the first four chapters of Mujihi na Otoko (KuonxNanao FTW!), and I was only aware of Warui Koto Shitai and Koi ja Nai Kedo.
Anyways, I read Warui Koto Shitai first. I believe I was okay with it. It certainly was fairly interesting, and my absolute favorite part was when Mikado goes “Why should I be nice to people I don’t like?” Very good question XD Actually, there’s not much that I remembered from this volume aside from that scene and the very minor ShinonomexYuki somewhere. Upon rereading, I discovered that the sex scene on the tiled floor of the Student Council room is vaguely familiar, as are Mikado’s hilarious questioning of the purpose of tact (still my favorite scene for this volume) and the smidgeon of ShinonomexYuki. What I didn’t remember was Mikado smiling that much. Yes, I know that Mikado has a split personality and he finds Towa adorable, but it’s just weird to see him smiling so often. Like, really weird. And since I’m so used to Mujihi, when someone referred to Mikado as Shirahane, I was like “Nanao? Where?!” XD Yuki looks kinda pretty, and I like how he and Mikado easily hit each other (which is apparently a regular occurrence, if the other Student Council members are to be believed). Loving the MikadoxYuki friendship very much ^.^ I frankly forgot that the other Aikawa brothers show up. Hisa-nii is as hilarious as always, but Kuon actually looks different- his hair is pretty much straight and spiky instead of it being all curling up at the ends. And Kuon’s very first appearance even includes him wearing an apron and a freakin’ bandana. WHAT IS THIS? I demand a scene of him wearing that in Mujihi na Anata >.< As for the oneshots, I have absolutely no recollection of the latter two, but the couple in the first one makes me think of a mix between ShinonomexYuki and KuonxNanao (glasses!!! ^.^).
Warui Ko Demo Ii? Um, yeah, I got majorly distracted by the beginnings of KuonxNanao XD I’m pretty sure I read the first four chapters of the volume after I read the first four chapters of Mujihi na Otoko, so it was a very nice surprise. Kuon’s hair looks not as pin-straight as in Warui Koto Shitai, so that’s nice. And of course, poor idiotic Hisa-nii XD *pats him on the head* Ah, such lovely, caring brothers~ Anyways. Still think Towa’s an idiot, still don’t particularly care for the main couple. However, Mikado’s evil personality is definitely more like what I’m used to from him. I vaguely remember Towa’s Chinese outfit and Mikado having dinner with the Aikawa brothers, but nothing about MikadoxTowa really stood out. On the other hand, after rereading, I enjoyed the further MikadoxYuki friendship, the ShinonomexYuki hints, and the ShinonomexYuu (or YuuxShinonome since Yuu seems very much like a seme?) friendship. And Nanao! *screams happily* Ah, he doesn’t look as gorgeous as he does in Mujihi, but still very much good-looking, as is Queen Shirahane. Actually, it even looks like Nanao has a bit of bedhead the first time he pops into Mikado’s room XD And he gets better groomed as the volume goes on, so that’s fine. I didn’t realize until now that the fifth and sixth chapters had been scanlated, so it was nice reading something new. Mikado was so very cute in his failure to seduce Towa~ And it looks like I got my MikadoxNanao after all! *fangirling wildly* I WAS SO NOT EXPECTING THAT MAJORLY HOT KISS *shrieks with joy* I LOVE YOU, NANAO! >.< Hmm, though from their brief conversation, I guess Mikado is aware that Nanao is quite the uke, so I wonder just how much he does know… But the best thing about that scene, even better than the actual kiss and Nanao’s sexiness/teasing (though just barely), is Mikado’s overall reaction: “Give it back.” Ha ha ha, he doesn’t even freak out, and even basically demands another kiss XD Ah, the evil Shirahane brothers <3
And here we are at the volume that got me into the Warui series: Kirai ja Nai Kedo~ I was instantly drawn to the cover because of the gorgeous artwork and how lovely Yuki was (he wears glasses!!!). And once I started reading, I was instantly hooked. I mean, seriously, Yuki is so not your typical sniveling uke. Sure, he’s a tsundere uke, but he used to be a delinquent for crying out loud, and not to mention he’s still very much acts like a delinquent at times ^.^ Needless to say, my favorite scene is that page where we get to witness his terrifying super-sonic right fist. Heck, even Shinonome finds Yuki terrifying. And that’s another thing- it’s quite rare for an uke to instill that much fear in his seme (and going so far as to actually hitting him), so this is incredibly refreshing and absolutely hilarious. And despite his violent tendencies, I find it interesting that Yuki is a target for creepy people XD Oh, can’t forget Shinonome. I really like his personality- cocky, goofy, lovesick, smug -he kinda reminds me of a very big puppy XD That tension Shinonome has with Mikado is wonderful. And of course, very lovely MikadoxYuki friendship. Mikado may have that funny disgusted face, but he must be close to Yuki if he worries over him and does small favors for him. I even thought it was hilarious when Mikado sent Towa that text message near the beginning- he even has a dorky side to him XD But yes, this volume and ShinonomexYuki shot up towards the top of my favorites list for a briefly glorious time before they were unceremoniously gekokujou-ed with my reading Mujihi na Otoko. And speaking of KuonxNanao, it goes without saying that, even though I really really enjoyed Shinonome and Yuki’s story, the sixth chapter was my favorite. First of all, it’s narrated by Hisa-nii whom I absolutely adore for his kookiness, and second, it features the loveliest tension between Kuon and Nanao <3 I wonder what Hisa actually does for a living. He’s just 24 (ah, so that makes Kuon 20 and Nanao 22) so he probably just got out of college. Poor clueless guy, holding down the fort all on his own (the very last page was hilarious) XD And I fell completely in love with Nanao and KuonxNanao before I knew who he was and before I knew they existed (because this volume was the second thing that I read). So yeah, Shinonome and Yuki cemented themselves as my second favorite couple of this series, and this volume is my favorite after Mujihi na Otoko/Anata. Hmm, though since Shinonome quit and Yuki quit a long time ago, I guess this makes Nanao the only character who smokes…

All this time, I was under the impression that Kimiko (why doesn’t she have a picture?) was the oldest D: Wait, but that doesn’t make sense for Nanao to be the oldest! Kimiko doesn’t look like a first/second year college student at all- she looks she’s Hisa-nii’s age! And since I’ve never heard Nanao talk to her, I can’t confirm whether she’s older than him or not :/ But nevertheless, I shall stick by my belief that she is the eldest Shirahane sibling. But I digress. Truthfully, once I got over the initial excitement, I was rather disappointed with this volume. The story line just wasn’t as engaging as Koi ja Nai Kedo, and Shinonome didn’t look like Shinonome. I don’t know if it’s the hair or his face, but he just looked really weird. And we don’t get to see his dorky side until the very end. Yuki’s still as gorgeous as ever, though he was oddly vocal during sex. Speaking of sex, why the heck does nobody use lube? Seriously, none of the couples use lube or any lubish type substances like chapstick (*snickers* Sirius and James are such idiots XD), and rimming is a no-go, so it’s all (pre)come and occasionally a bit of saliva. Anyways. Even with the lovely minor MikadoxYuki friendship, I was still dissatisfied with the overall story, especially with how Yuki fails at untying himself (I mean, really, he has a free hand!) and how the stalker thing is never resolved.
Warui Koto Bakkashite Gomennasai- wow, what a mouthful XD Nanao shows up (and steals the show, of course~) and is as mischievous as always <3 And the panel where Towa has his arm raised and is happily/drunkenly saying “Come on- let’s play in the riding position” is probably one of, if not the, few times I find him to be adorable. But aww, Mikado, please don’t try and ruin Nanao’s relationship with Aikawa as there is already enough angsty tension as it is :( But oh! Yuki all dazed and spaced out like that is so cute >.< Yeah, just a brief moment, but it’s still something~ Love the relationship between Hisa-nii and Aikawa, as always ^.^ *gasp* Uwah, and we even get a small glimpse of Kuon wearing a gakuran! :D Hmm, but that raises the question as to where Nanao attended high school since he wore a blazer (I doubt that the uniforms changed, and if they did change, then it would’ve been from gakuran to blazer and not the other way around), and why Mikado is attending a different high school (Shinonome’s friends mention that this is a prestigious high school, so what does that make Nanao’s high school?). Oh, and since this mini-volume is all about alcohol, I would love to see Nanao and Kuon go drinking together (once Kuon turns legal, but that’s not a necessary condition) :D I think it’s very safe to say that Nanao can hold his liquor, so it might be a nice change of pace if Kuon’s the one who is a lightweight ^.^
Now back to MikadoxTowa in Warui Yatsu Demo Ii? Nice to see that Yuki still has so many fans, including Irie, even now XD Hmm, but the Shirahane parents won’t be home? Again, what the heck do they do? Ah, I guess the character chart for Koi ja Nai Kedo is incorrect as Nanao refers to Kimiko as “our older sister” *nods in satisfaction* And I absolutely adore Yuu in here :D I really love how he can look so cute and wear flowery barrettes and pass as a girl while at the same time have a total seme personality. The scenes where he distracts the student council members is just full of win XD Mikado must have really had it out for him…Yay for more MikadoxYuki interactions, and my favorite part of this volume aside from everything Nanao is definitely Yuki with his idiot-senses XD The first time I read that scene, I was laughing hysterically. And on laughing hysterically, Hisa-nii is as amusing as ever *pats him comfortingly* At least the poor guy has Kuon (Superman of the Aikawa family… *snickers*) to help him out some of the time XD I do very much like Hisa-nii and Kuon’s brotherly antics. But oh god, NANAO!!! *fangirling like there’s no tomorrow* He is the main reason why I like this volume so much, that gorgeous gorgeous guy~ And I read this after Mujihi na Otoko, so I could really feel Nanao’s then unrequited love *wibbles forever* Nanao darling, don’t be sad- you’ll get your happy ending eventually T.T Ah, and I do miss the sensei. It’s very unlikely, but I do hope that he’ll show up in Mujihi na Anata. Hmm, I guess I don’t really have much to say on MikadoxTowa. Then again, I hardly ever do XD Ooh, but I did find Mikado to be very adorable when he was blushing ^.^ I wonder if the Shirahane family ever got to see this side of Mikado. Maybe when he was a baby/toddler? Though I’m under the impression that he never smiled until he met Towa. Actually, I don’t think the Shirahane family ever get to see each other’s sensitive side- I highly doubt that they really know about Nanao’s fragileness, so they probably don’t see Mikado smiling or blushing either (wonder what Kimiko is secretly like…).
Uh yeah, MUJIHI NA OTOKO IS STILL MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE YAOI WITH MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHARACTER AND UKE BEING NANAO AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BL COUPLE BEING KUONxNANAO. So naturally it has had its own separate post. Even with the post being around 8,500 words of fangirling (and that’s not including the comments where me and luckycloverg69 analyze the heck out of it), and this being the only manga that I’ve reread that many times, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express how much I love this. But you know what? I think that Mujihi na Otoko is the volume thus far that has the most chapters solely focused on the respective couple. Warui Koto Shitai has three chapters with an extra and three random oneshots, Warui Ko Demo Ii? is only four chapters with two extras, the last chapter for Kirai ja Nai Kedo doesn’t even feature either Yuki or Shinonome, Koi ja Nai Kedo has five chapters with an extra, Warui Koto Bakkashite Gomennasai is just three extras, Warui Yatsu Demo Ii? has five chapters but the fifth chapter is Nanao-centric and therefore doesn’t count, I don’t know about Warui Koibito ja Dame since only one chapter’s been scanlated though I’m guessing there will be extras, and Kare ja Nai Kedo apparently only has four chapters with two other somethings. And then we have Mujihi na Otoko with six full chapters all based on the whole story of KuonxNanao along with two extras. So I’d say it’s very special ^.^
Warui Koibito ja Dame? Not much to say about this since I’ve only read the first chapter. I do like how Mikado flaunts his and Yuki’s friendship. Enjoying seeing Yuki angry… *snickers* How cute- even at such a young age, Kuon is already obsessing over being possessive XD And it’s about time that one of the couples gets caught in action. Yuki and Towa’s reactions are rather hilarious. I’m not sure what the very last page depicts, but if I were to guess, the people on top might be Hisa (the only one I know for sure), Shinonome (because he’s grinning), Towa (otherwise Hisa-nii wouldn’t react like a mother having her child taken away), and Yuki (because of the hair color; so pretty!). And of course, Mikado and Towa in the middle. But where are Nanao and Kuon? D: I bet that Kuon would look totally hot and Nanao would look absolutely beautiful.
Kare ja Nai Kedo time! After the mild letdown that was Koi ja Nai Kedo, I was very happy to find that I really love this so far, and this further confirmed my love for ShinonomexYuki. The plot is very interesting albeit rather short if there’s only one chapter left *insert frowny face* I did not realize that Yuki used to call Shinonome by his given name, but I found Irie and Kashi fighting over Yuki to be highly amusing- they are so totally Yuki’s groupies XD And my goodness, Shinonome cleans up fine :D I like his delinquent-ish looks, and I like his model student look as well. And he’s wearing glasses! ^.^ Nice to see that Shinonome looks like Shinonome again~ But I do feel rather sorry for him- it must be difficult to not have any of his affection openly returned *pats his shoulder*) Oh look, a smut scene already (*cough*I want Mujihi na Anata smut*cough*) :D And isn’t this new? So KuonxNanao have the riding position, ShinonomexYuki have this sumata(?), and MikadoxTowa have…normal-ish sex, I guess. Meh. But what really made me enjoy the third chapter was the blatant MikadoxYuki friendship (seriously can’t get enough of it). Mikado going out of his way to bring Yuki the work, Yuki being comfortable enough to change in front of Mikado, Mikado’s brutally yet hilariously honest description of Yuki, Mikado supporting Yuki and his relationship with Shinonome (in his own way), la di la, it’s lovely ^.^ Though Mikado makes an interesting comment: “Even my older sister has never hit me before.” Obviously Nanao would rather tease and kiss Mikado than hit him, so does this mean that Kimiko’s other personality is a violent one? I’d like to think so :D Either way, I’d very much love to see what kind of relationship Kimiko has with her brothers.
And finally (as of now), Mujihi na Anata. I don’t love this as much as Mujihi na Otoko (of course not, there’s no other manga out there that can even hope to rival Mujihi na Otoko, not even the wonderful sequel), but I still love it a lot since it’s all about KuonxNanao ^.^ And naturally this has its own post as well, and it already has to be split into two parts on account of its length. With just two chapters, the overall Mujihi na Anata spazzing has already reached nearly 8,500 words (which is less than Mujihi na Otoko, so LJ, wai u no let me post?), and, as before, this does not include the in-depth fangirling between me and luckycloverg69. Because Mujihi na Otoko is my favorite, I would’ve liked for that to be my biggest post, but that sadly will not be the case. See, I wrote that post way after I’d reread it several times, and so rather than doing a majorly nitpicky page by page commentary like I was reading it for the first time and because I didn’t have to do any predictions on the chapters to come (since there aren’t any more unless you count the unscanlated extras, and I don’t), I only did a mostly page by page commentary and I skipped a lot. But yeah, Mujihi na Anata. The art for Nanao and Kuon (especially Kuon) looked a bit funky at times for the first chapter and I felt like there was a lack of backgrounds for the most part, but overall, I’m really really loving this volume so far (SO MUCH GLORIOUS TENSION), and I hope that the sex scene won’t disappoint~

Even with the lovely minor MikadoxYuki friendship, I was still dissatisfied with the overall story, especially with how Yuki fails at untying himself (I mean, really, he has a free hand!) and how the stalker thing is never resolved.
Warui Koto Bakkashite Gomennasai- wow, what a mouthful XD Nanao shows up (and steals the show, of course~) and is as mischievous as always <3 And the panel where Towa has his arm raised and is happily/drunkenly saying “Come on- let’s play in the riding position” is probably one of, if not the, few times I find him to be adorable. But aww, Mikado, please don’t try and ruin Nanao’s relationship with Aikawa as there is already enough angsty tension as it is :( But oh! Yuki all dazed and spaced out like that is so cute >.< Yeah, just a brief moment, but it’s still something~ Love the relationship between Hisa-nii and Aikawa, as always ^.^ *gasp* Uwah, and we even get a small glimpse of Kuon wearing a gakuran! :D Hmm, but that raises the question as to where Nanao attended high school since he wore a blazer (I doubt that the uniforms changed, and if they did change, then it would’ve been from gakuran to blazer and not the other way around), and why Mikado is attending a different high school (Shinonome’s friends mention that this is a prestigious high school, so what does that make Nanao’s high school?). Oh, and since this mini-volume is all about alcohol, I would love to see Nanao and Kuon go drinking together (once Kuon turns legal, but that’s not a necessary condition) :D I think it’s very safe to say that Nanao can hold his liquor, so it might be a nice change of pace if Kuon’s the one who is a lightweight ^.^
Now back to MikadoxTowa in Warui Yatsu Demo Ii? Nice to see that Yuki still has so many fans, including Irie, even now XD Hmm, but the Shirahane parents won’t be home? Again, what the heck do they do? Ah, I guess the character chart for Koi ja Nai Kedo is incorrect as Nanao refers to Kimiko as “our older sister” *nods in satisfaction* And I absolutely adore Yuu in here :D I really love how he can look so cute and wear flowery barrettes and pass as a girl while at the same time have a total seme personality. The scenes where he distracts the student council members is just full of win XD Mikado must have really had it out for him…Yay for more MikadoxYuki interactions, and my favorite part of this volume aside from everything Nanao is definitely Yuki with his idiot-senses XD The first time I read that scene, I was laughing hysterically. And on laughing hysterically, Hisa-nii is as amusing as ever *pats him comfortingly* At least the poor guy has Kuon (Superman of the Aikawa family… *snickers*) to help him out some of the time XD I do very much like Hisa-nii and Kuon’s brotherly antics. But oh god, NANAO!!! *fangirling like there’s no tomorrow* He is the main reason why I like this volume so much, that gorgeous gorgeous guy~ And I read this after Mujihi na Otoko, so I could really feel Nanao’s then unrequited love *wibbles forever* Nanao darling, don’t be sad- you’ll get your happy ending eventually T.T Ah, and I do miss the sensei. It’s very unlikely, but I do hope that he’ll show up in Mujihi na Anata. Hmm, I guess I don’t really have much to say on MikadoxTowa. Then again, I hardly ever do XD Ooh, but I did find Mikado to be very adorable when he was blushing ^.^ I wonder if the Shirahane family ever got to see this side of Mikado. Maybe when he was a baby/toddler? Though I’m under the impression that he never smiled until he met Towa. Actually, I don’t think the Shirahane family ever get to see each other’s sensitive side- I highly doubt that they really know about Nanao’s fragileness, so they probably don’t see Mikado smiling or blushing either (wonder what Kimiko is secretly like…).
Uh yeah, MUJIHI NA OTOKO IS STILL MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE YAOI WITH MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHARACTER AND UKE BEING NANAO AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE BL COUPLE BEING KUONxNANAO. So naturally it has had its own separate post. Even with the post being around 8,500 words of fangirling (and that’s not including the comments where me and luckycloverg69 analyze the heck out of it), and this being the only manga that I’ve reread that many times, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to express how much I love this. But you know what? I think that Mujihi na Otoko is the volume thus far that has the most chapters solely focused on the respective couple. Warui Koto Shitai has three chapters with an extra and three random oneshots, Warui Ko Demo Ii? is only four chapters with two extras, the last chapter for Kirai ja Nai Kedo doesn’t even feature either Yuki or Shinonome, Koi ja Nai Kedo has five chapters with an extra, Warui Koto Bakkashite Gomennasai is just three extras, Warui Yatsu Demo Ii? has five chapters but the fifth chapter is Nanao-centric and therefore doesn’t count, I don’t know about Warui Koibito ja Dame since only one chapter’s been scanlated though I’m guessing there will be extras, and Kare ja Nai Kedo apparently only has four chapters with two other somethings. And then we have Mujihi na Otoko with six full chapters all based on the whole story of KuonxNanao along with two extras. So I’d say it’s very special ^.^
Warui Koibito ja Dame? Not much to say about this since I’ve only read the first chapter. I do like how Mikado flaunts his and Yuki’s friendship. Enjoying seeing Yuki angry… *snickers* How cute- even at such a young age, Kuon is already obsessing over being possessive XD And it’s about time that one of the couples gets caught in action. Yuki and Towa’s reactions are rather hilarious. I’m not sure what the very last page depicts, but if I were to guess, the people on top might be Hisa (the only one I know for sure), Shinonome (because he’s grinning), Towa (otherwise Hisa-nii wouldn’t react like a mother having her child taken away), and Yuki (because of the hair color; so pretty!). And of course, Mikado and Towa in the middle. But where are Nanao and Kuon? D: I bet that Kuon would look totally hot and Nanao would look absolutely beautiful.
Kare ja Nai Kedo time! After the mild letdown that was Koi ja Nai Kedo, I was very happy to find that I really love this so far, and this further confirmed my love for ShinonomexYuki. The plot is very interesting albeit rather short if there’s only one chapter left *insert frowny face* I did not realize that Yuki used to call Shinonome by his given name, but I found Irie and Kashi fighting over Yuki to be highly amusing- they are so totally Yuki’s groupies XD And my goodness, Shinonome cleans up fine :D I like his delinquent-ish looks, and I like his model student look as well. And he’s wearing glasses! ^.^ Nice to see that Shinonome looks like Shinonome again~ But I do feel rather sorry for him- it must be difficult to not have any of his affection openly returned *pats his shoulder*) Oh look, a smut scene already (*cough*I want Mujihi na Anata smut*cough*) :D And isn’t this new? So KuonxNanao have the riding position, ShinonomexYuki have this sumata(?), and MikadoxTowa have…normal-ish sex, I guess. Meh. But what really made me enjoy the third chapter was the blatant MikadoxYuki friendship (seriously can’t get enough of it). Mikado going out of his way to bring Yuki the work, Yuki being comfortable enough to change in front of Mikado, Mikado’s brutally yet hilariously honest description of Yuki, Mikado supporting Yuki and his relationship with Shinonome (in his own way), la di la, it’s lovely ^.^ Though Mikado makes an interesting comment: “Even my older sister has never hit me before.” Obviously Nanao would rather tease and kiss Mikado than hit him, so does this mean that Kimiko’s other personality is a violent one? I’d like to think so :D Either way, I’d very much love to see what kind of relationship Kimiko has with her brothers.
And finally (as of now), Mujihi na Anata. I don’t love this as much as Mujihi na Otoko (of course not, there’s no other manga out there that can even hope to rival Mujihi na Otoko, not even the wonderful sequel), but I still love it a lot since it’s all about KuonxNanao ^.^ And naturally this has its own post as well, and it already has to be split into two parts on account of its length. With just two chapters, the overall Mujihi na Anata spazzing has already reached nearly 8,500 words (which is less than Mujihi na Otoko, so LJ, wai u no let me post?), and, as before, this does not include the in-depth fangirling between me and luckycloverg69. Because Mujihi na Otoko is my favorite, I would’ve liked for that to be my biggest post, but that sadly will not be the case. See, I wrote that post way after I’d reread it several times, and so rather than doing a majorly nitpicky page by page commentary like I was reading it for the first time and because I didn’t have to do any predictions on the chapters to come (since there aren’t any more unless you count the unscanlated extras, and I don’t), I only did a mostly page by page commentary and I skipped a lot. But yeah, Mujihi na Anata. The art for Nanao and Kuon (especially Kuon) looked a bit funky at times for the first chapter and I felt like there was a lack of backgrounds for the most part, but overall, I’m really really loving this volume so far (SO MUCH GLORIOUS TENSION), and I hope that the sex scene won’t disappoint~
