Great news on the Lil' M! 'Awesome' doesn't really describe that one!
I'm glad to hear that Al is going to take some sort-of down time. I assumed when you said doctorate program in January, you meant 2010, and I thought that there could be some advantage in just plowing ahead, but JEEZ!
'Awesome' doesn't really describe that one! I don't even know if there are words to describe it. I've felt like laughing, jumping, shouting, and crying -- and I'm only the aunt. I can't even begin to fathom what it's like for Baby Bro and Sis-in-Law.
I thought that there could be some advantage in just plowing ahead, but JEEZ! Actually, there are more advantages for Al to wait a year or two before heading to law school. With her GPA, she needs an excellent LSAT score and the law schools will be fighting each other to get her. And, yes, this means full scholarships. Two years will allow her mental and physical time off, as well as two years worth of savings to build up for books and non-scholarship expenses. More than two years might have Life getting in the way, and she might not go back to school.
