I didn't post yesterday. It was a a half-day of work with a meeting after, and it lasted about 2 hours. I got home just before 9pm. When I came in, M had waited for me and was starting to put the dinner in the oven

Ah, but you forget what a formidable opponent my mother was. ;]
She instituted a rule (which Baby Bro has already established), where the kid/kids need to take a bite -- some times 2 or 3, because they'd be smaller bites -- of any new kind of food.
Of course, the rule wasn't instituted until we were much older, so we three oldest girls suffered the most. XD
Mom also had the rule that we were to all eat the same thing. If the family dinner was meatloaf, asparagus, salad, bread w/butter, mash potatoes and milk .... no one was getting a peanut butter sandwich or scrambled eggs. We might not have to eat the asparagus and our other drink selection might be water, but no special foods were cooked. And if we put the food on our plate, we had to eat every last bit of it.
Yes .... she was a verrrrry formidable opponent. :D

Real familiar with that one as far as Kira is concerned. It's quite worrisome.
