Your Japanese is fine. All I would say is that usually you don't say "please" when you first meet someone, so you wouldn't have to say onegai shimasu before your greeting. A simple, "初めまして、マイレスです。よろしくお願いします" would be much better. Yes I used the onegai shimasu as well but I used it after "yoroshiku" which means "please be kind to me", "or please accept me"..roughly translated. Not much translation for yoroshiku.
