The headline "Skype VoIP Software Released For Linux" on Alterslash caught my eye (link to original Slashdot post here) together with the related "Cross Platform VOIP software" (original here).

Useful for those of us who want to stay in touch with (IT literate/broadband connected) distant friends... Maybe there was no need for lilitufire to upgrade to ( Read more... )

Sorry, just proving lilitufire's point that maybe I am a 'geek'. Basically it amounts to free international telephone calls between computers equipped with ADSL and speakers and a microphone.

Very useful for maintaining long-distance relationships while avoiding bankruptcy!

Glad the postcard reached you :-) Am still working through my post mountain, but haven't seen a postcard yet...
