oh man, i go awol for a couple of days and adv goes under?? This is kind of sad, they were the provisioners for my first foray into anime dvds.... and while their manga translations weren't the greatest (moment of silence for the travesy that was peacemaker kurogane................) they were practically pioneers in the biz

Ugh if this keeps up the icons of my childhood will be shelved and replaced in the next five years.

Yeah it's weird. I THINK it's a heavy-handed corporate restructuring, but regardless the ADV Films name is kaput. I didn't really follow their manga, as I was wrapped up in other series/re-reading classics from my youth at the time, but I know it ruffled a ton of feathers and they were indeed pioneers.

I've been making it a point to buy old anime and stuff that may disappear soon. Sadly I lost some sets and rare DVDs while moving, which pissed me off. Know anybody with a Venus Wars DVD they don't want?
