Summary: Nikaido was supposed to meet Senga in front of the Slytherin common room door. But where is the younger boy?
A/N: This JE/HP crossover fandom is just too great to be left in one fic. :D After writing a fic of adult Ryo and Okura after they've graduated from Hogwarts, I now wanted to write about boys who still are students in the school. :’3
(Btw the ryokura fic is here:

Comments are appreciated, as always. ^^

Nikaido tapped his foot and leant his back to the cold stone wall. Senga being late wasn’t anything to be worried of - he was always late from everywhere else but flying lessons - usually he came after some minutes. Now it was already half past eight and the boy was still missing.
Slowly, Nikaido started to suspect something bad had happened to Senga. The boy had left from the dinner smiling and talking with Miyata and Nikaido, but he hadn’t seen him after the two boys had turned to the Hufflepuff common rooms as Nikaido himself had went downstairs to Slytherin's owns.
Had Senga forgotten his promise? No, it wasn’t possible. Senga never stood him up without an explanation. Nikaido decided to go upstairs. Maybe he’d meet Senga on his way up.
Soon enough the black haired boy stood in front of the big painting that was the door to Hufflepuff common room, and even then he hadn’t seen his boyfriend. Where in the world the boy was?
Suddenly the painting-door opened and a first year student girl stepped out, heading to the stairway upstairs.
“Hey, you there,” Nikaido shouted after her. ”Have you seen a goofy looking boy with curly hair and stupid smile?” The girl stopped, shook his head nervously and then skittered away.
“Senga Kento where in the hell are you?” Nikaido muttered and kicked a small blue ball on the floor.
Wait a second. A small blue ball? Nikaido bent down to catch the ball in his hand. Yeah, he was sure about it. It was the fake Snitch that belonged to his boyfriend. Nikaido himself had given the Snitch to Senga as Christmas present last year. It worked like the GPS that Nikaido’s father had in his car in the muggle world. Senga tended to get lost in the school very easily, so the Snitch was supposed to fly in the place its owner told it to, thus leading Senga to the right place.
Would it obey Nikaido, too? After all, he just wanted to find Senga with it.
He placed the Snitch on his palm and tapped it with his wand carefully.
“Help me to find Senga”, he told it and to his relief the Snitch opened its small white feather wings and rose on the air, turning around as if it was looking for something. Then it flew towards the stairway down to Slytherin common room.
“But he wasn’t there,” Nikaido mumbled, following the Snitch anyway.
The answer to his unasked question came as the Snitch turned down left from the main passage. Nikaido had never gone there, since he didn’t really like dark places and only the way to the Slytherin common room was lighted with torches. Why in hell had Senga turned to the dark stairway? The older boy really, really wouldn’t have wanted to go there. But he had to follow the Snitch.
“Lumos,” Nikaido whispered and a small light appeared at the end of his wand. He took a deep breath and followed the small flying object deeper to the dungeons.
The air in the dark passage was chilly and smelled like mould and something that Nikaido didn’t want to know about. Small puddles of water squelched under his feet as he walked silently after the Snitch. After a good while and too many intersections Nikaido was seriously starting to believe that the Snitch was either broken or just unwilling to obey him as he wasn’t its real owner.
Suddenly a great fear struck to his mind. What if the Snitch thought it had been stolen and was now disorienting the suggested thief on purpose? Not until now had he realized there was no way he could ever find his way out from this dark dungeon without the help of the Snitch.
“Damn!” Nikaido cursed desperately in his mind, feeling his knees to get weak of fear. It was late evening already. Everybody would just think he had already gone to sleep - no one would even look for him before next morning. That meant too many hours of waiting in a creepy, wet cave.
“How did YOU find me?” Nikaido suddenly heard a surprised, yet a bit weepy voice from somewhere in the darkness. He glanced around quickly, but didn't see anyone. The voice had sounded very, very familiar, though.
"K-kenpi?" Nikaido asked carefully with a loud voice, his wand ready for defence if someone tried to attack him.
"Nika? Is it you?" The other voice asked as if the speaker didn't believe his ears.
"Yeah, it's me," Nikaido said and immediately felt a lot better as he walked ahead and turned from the next corner left, meeting his boyfriend sitting on the floor and squinting as the light of Nikaido's wand hurt his eyes. The blue, faintly glowing fake Snitch wafted happily around the younger boy.
Even in the small light they had Nikaido could easily see that Senga had been crying. Probably for a long time already since his face was red and there were streaks of tears all over his cheeks.
"Idiot, get up or you'll catch a cold!" the older one snapped taking hold of Senga's wrist, pulled the still sobbing boy on his feet and hugged him tight.
"What on earth are you doing here in the dark all alone?" he asked as Senga had calmed down a bit.
"I... I tried to come to the Slytherin door… But I guess I got lost or s-something, I don't know… And then I was h-here and didn't know where I was or… where I should go, and I c-couldn't get out because I lost the Snitch and then I s-stumbled to some… something and my wand dropped and I d-didn't find it anymore 'cause it… it was so dark and Nika I was so scared!"
The black haired boy couldn't understand how it was possible to turn wrong in a lighted corridor, but it seemed to be possible. At least to this cute idiot. The tone of Senga's voice sounded like the boy was going to burst into tears again, so Nikaido guided the conversation quickly to the safer subjects. He didn't want Senga to cry, neither wanted he tell the boy he had been scared too.
"I found your Snitch. It was on the floor near the Hufflepuff door. And it guided me to you as I asked it to! Maybe it missed you! And… Well, I missed you too," he added after hesitating for a second.
"Really?" Senga's voice calmed again, just like Nikaido had hoped.
"Well, yeah," he admitted again and pressed his lips on Senga's to avoid all the other embarrassing things the boy might make him say before he himself would even notice.
Senga's wand wasn't too far away and it came to them as Nikaido casted the Summoning charm. Then the boys walked the whole way back upstairs hand in hand (a very sappy thing to do even in their situation, in Nikaido's opinion), following the small blue Snitch floating before them.
As they arrived to the passage that was enlightened with torches, Senga turned to his boyfriend, smiling apologetic.
"I'm sorry you had to come down the --"
"Hey, you two. It's time to go to the common rooms now!" a Slytherin prefect girl told to them as she walked past.
"-- and it seems I also spoiled our evening together," the younger boy said sorrowfully, but Nikaido just shrugged and smiled a bit.
"It's okay. We can try again tomorrow."
"Can we?" Senga asked and his face brightened in a way that made Nikaido suddenly feel warm and comfortable and forget that he had actually been a bit angry to the younger one for being careless.
"Of course, idiot. But tomorrow we'll meet in front of the Hufflepuff door. I guess you'll find it? Good. After dinner, you will wait for me there and don't move an inch before I'm with you," Nikaido said and grinned as the younger made him a pouting face for the older one had so clearly pointed his mistrust towards Senga's homing instinct.
