Hey everyone! :3 What do you think of my double-majoring in Math and [insert some sort of Engineering here], and double-minoring in History and Latin? xDD

XD Wow. And I thought I was ambitious. Double-majoring in psychology and music and minoring in Japanese. XDD

YAY for minoring in non-widely-spoken languages! xDD

Do minors even mean anything anymore?

But I think I'll double in Linguistics and Computer Science and minor in photography. The uni I'm going to has a lot of double and triple majors.

:D [Note to self: Finish comment before hitting "Post Comment" button!]

I think it depends on which uni you go to whether you'll be swamped with work or unable to get the classes you need for either of your concentrations. If it's a huge school with bazillions of people, you may end up not graduating in four years with just one major.

Hee hee~ *pokes*

*sigh of despair* I don't think I'll be getting out in four years even if I only major in one thing, because I want a PhD. (Damn ambition!)

Oh, thank yew for the advice! ^-^ <3

Ambition sure is a bitch, isn't it. :P

My own ambition comes and goes, but when it comes it sure does it spectacularly. Hence the Stanford rejection, but that's in the past. XD;;;

Problem with a PhD is that you'll more likely than not end up as an underpaid academic type.

Although the thought of spending a life as a perpetual grad student sounds pretty pleasant to me.

Hee~ Thank you! I know it seems like a random question, but my dad and one of my good friends are pretty opposed to it. Although I hypothesize that's because they do/ did badly in History class xDD, so they're bitter towards it ^^;;. So I was wondering what other people think ^-^

Well, I don't know anything about you and history, but if you want to, I would go for it, and then if it turns out you don't like it, you can always quit it, or something. :D

ahhhh ::cowers at the sight of so many math/science geniuses commenting on one post::

um, i apologize for whatever english person told you it was childish to read for fun.

and anyway personally i think your college program sounds like suicide but if it makes you happy then yeah go for it (not suicide obviously), plus also you're really good at all of the above so you should enjoy it yay!

YAY for reading for fun! :3 *high five*

Heh heh, I know it will most likely be quite a workload xD. But working hard is nice (well, sometimes). And I really, really like all those subjects :3. So I should enjoy it. ^_^

Your "go for it (not suicide obviously)" comment made me crack up <3

I feel slightly weird since I usually never comment on people's journals that I don't know ( ... )

You make really good points... I never thought about the possibility of loving a subject but not being good at it. xD I'm just lucky that I love math and am good at it; I guess I took that for granted. >.<

As of now, though, I don't want to minor in Latin anymore, so that'll make things easier. I can't make myself give up on Math & Engineering, though, and I love my History.... >.< Hopefully it'll not be too overwhelming. But if it is, I'll just drop one or two of them as soon as I can. xD

But... you're at Columbia? That's so cool! That's where I want to go~ :D Do you mind if I ask you some questions about it? :D

xDD Also... Columbia's actually the reason I'm going to New York - I'm doing a summer program there in Physics. Hee~ x33!
