Don't recognize the name of the movie, but this: This story mentions key figures of Christianity from a very pissed off non-Christian's point of view. Some may find this offensive. was enough to get me to read :) Cause I'm a pissed off non-Christian. Liked this a lot.
Several favorite bits:
No upstart Judaean war god and his half-mortal spawn was going to change that.

Hope strengthens me. The gods grow stronger. There are more survivors, more escapees.

I always wondered how Epps survived the raft journey and got attention of that cruise ship! anonymous February 21 2010, 16:43:07 UTC
I love the story, and so has everyone I have told to read it over the years. Not only is it delightful fun to read and makes you want more, but it actually explains why Maureen did not die of hypothermia on that raft as she should have. Without Jack heating up the water and firing the imaginary flare, as you said, she couldn't have made it.

Love this, as does everyone I have sent to read it. ext_248114 July 25 2017, 05:26:09 UTC
I love this story. I remembered it and had to look it up to read it again. Its one of my favorite short stories ever. As it happens I am a devout Episcopalean, and very proudly Christian. I still love the way you portray gods, although I see the God the Father as being the one who throws temper tantrums. You need to write an entire novel.
