there is another really dodgy version of with or without you knocking around, recorded sitting around a fire in the middle of the night. in the rain.
at least the website has some colour now :)

Oh dude, i just listened to old love, and wow- being put up on the net did NOTHING to help it. i've heard the recording you have of and it sounds MUCH better than that. the version on ur site sounds like ur singing in the bottom of a deep tin bath. and that guitar ur playing really wasn't very good.

Well, the tracks were 50 meg AIFF files that I had to reduce down a tad to fit on the website. I cut them to 3-4 meg mp3s with "good" quality and 128 bit encoding. That was still too big so I brought the quality down to poor and with 48 bit encoding.

But I dunno, the guitar was quite shocking to begin with, and played through a soundcard rather than a PA system, and we just cut it once and didn't play with any of the sound settings. I don't think the original was all that great either.
