It's usually around the high 80's to low 90's, sunny and breezy, especially by the water. There is a bike path that runs from my apartment to Coney Island, alongside the Hudson/Atlantic (I think). It's usually pretty amazing outside.
is NY hilly? i wouldnt imagine that it is, but the hardest part about biking here is that there are so many effing hills, it's unreal. i went a few miles from my house, then on the way back i wanted to DIE. i had to walk my bike up this one hille, it was so depressing :(
Brooklyn can get a little hilly. Where I live (Sunset Park), I'm told is supposed to be the apex of Brooklyn. I live at the bottom of this hill, so if I need to go anywhere, I have to walk uphill a little. But, if I want to ride my bike to Prospect Park, which I usually do, I have to ride a lot uphill. But it isn't too bad. I can imagine that California is a big crazier. That's where a lot of fixed-geared cyclists go, because they have the hills to slide down. Crazy stuff.
