Apropos the extended time it's taken me to establish any kind of literary backing on my novel, "A Field of Owls," I have decided to start a donation page, which will help expedite this ambitious goal forward
( Read more... )
When I'm closer to my wallet, today, I will do this donation thing. (Uncrossed-fingers-promise, I will do this!) It is about time a fellow who passed some time in Orlando other than that Bukowski guy got some literary notoriety. Unless Mr. Rogers, as a literary reader to children, counts. I doubt you could ever trump him.
Also, should you want some feedback, I'm golden at the moment. I just read James Wood's How Fiction Works, and am now even more well-versed in literary theory than I was in college. I suggest you pick up the book, or use what I donate to buy the book. I think you'll find it entertaining/inspiring/helpful.
Thank you so much! I will take your advice and look into that book (uncrossed-fingers-promise). I really hope that you can help me in any way with criticism, etc. And nobody can trump Mr. Rogers, let's be real.
OK, done. Although I haven't received a confirmation e-mail just yet, so let me know if it didn't go through.
Also let me know if you have Word or Pages. I can edit as I read and send that back to you. Back in 12th grade, I was a mighty peer editor in my school's Writing Center program. I have serious creds, y'see. That, and I studied advertising copywriting.
This is the girl who asked for a copy of "A Field of Owls".. but doesn't have a livejournal of her own :)
I am truly inspired by your talent. I have only read about 90 pages so far but, I find myself not wanting to stop. I wish I had the time to just sit and read all day long and I'd be the happiest girl on the block.
I think that you should be very proud of yourself. This is a huge accomplishment. I am absolutely going to give a donation. I don't have a lot to give. But, after reading as much as I have, I feel like I have to give something and I know that it's going towards a great cause.
