It's not my favorite comic book movie, but it may be the best.
I was able to go into it un-fazed by the hype about Heath Ledger, but even so, I was absolutely entranced by the intensity and the... inevitability of the Joker. I also really, really liked Harvey Dent, though I did have one big issue with him by the end of the movie.
I found that I wasn't as annoyed by the Bat-Voice as most other people I know, but the gadgetry proved just a bit over-the-top for me. Being a total ninja and absurd billionaire, I can deal with. Magical techno-widgets, not so much.
In the end, I thought it was a great movie, and while I wouldn't be interested in watching it at any random time, it's definitely taken a place in my top five.
The scene between Morgan Freeman and the accountant was worth the price of admission alone!
