I was really moved by this piece... I was hoping you had written it.

I sometimes feel like i'm a bird sitting on the edge of the cage door... wanting to leap into the world but afraid of falling. I want a motorcycle.. I'm entranced by them... but the danger associated scares the pants off me. I still haven't decided.

I wish I were that eloquent. There's a reason I have an engineer degree, not an English degree.

Motorcycling involves risk and danger. It's up to you to manage the risk. Rider training, proper gear (ATGATT!), being alert while riding, and using good judgement. The reward is well worth the risk for me.

In life there are only two guarantees, we're born and we die (the tax thing can be avoided, but I'm still trying to figure that one out). What we do in between is called living. Some prefer to live life sitting on their ass tipping back a few cold ones. Me, I like to add a little excitement to my life and get my heart beating just a little bit faster. Then, when I'm finished, I'll tip back the cold ones and tell all my couch potato buddies about all the fun they missed out on.

The masochism is certainly there, both in running and motorcycling. :-)

Come ride mine sometime! Well, once I replace the wiring harness that kind of toasted itself...
