I don't like alcohol, or rather the behavior often associated with it. I have nothing personal against people who drink; people are free to do what the will to themselves. My problem is that many people rely on it as an excuse to do things that they want to do but ordinarily would not. It is this displacement of responsibility that angers me ( Read more... )

Yeah I'm sure it's possible to go to a bar and meet people in a civilized way, maybe it's just not the venue for me. And hey no worries about finals, I've also been busy with them. Now here's hoping it will all be worth it.

The idea is evidently to melt away your brain so you find drunken females attractive. Ick.

Instead, I'd recommend hanging out at Fry's Electronics. Great place to meet geek girls.

Yes most people have great success in melting away their brains and getting others drunk with them so they will do anything without thinking about it. But I like my brain, I no want it be melted. :)

Fry's electronics is a great idea! Any other suggestions? Someday I may actually take some initiative and start seeking people out (unlikely but hey anything is possible).

I like my brain too. It amuses me that the first effect alcohol has on me, the first inhibition it strips, is my inhibition that makes me use smaller words in public around people.

I know that there are a lot of cheerful perky anime-watching girls at DeVry's University of the Anime Otaku club, which meets on alternate Saturdays from 11:30 or so until 4:30, with dinner following. You don't have to be a student to show up...

Fair warning, though, some of them are pretty wacked.

I wish more women shared your view of video games! It would sure make a lot of geek guys happy. :)

I have been very busy with school, sorry about that. Hopefully I will be on a lot more often in the next two weeks, but then it's back to school. Happy happy, joy joy.
