Meet the Nautilus X

And here we have the future. ^^ Possibly the future of space exploration, and hopefully just the thing we need to get off this rock and start becoming a space faring race. And, likely something we needed decades ago.

The Nautilus is a really impressive piece of engineering! I hope they can launch into space sometime soon. With NASA's space shuttle programme shut down, this may be a much needed kick for more intense space exploration.

Heh, the shuttle's were never meant to do anything other than go up into orbit, and do stuff there. Which is a shame! I believe earlier designs were meant to go farther, but that got scrapped as all the budget cuts swarmed in. No doubt the private companies, and the ESA will continue to strive forward. :3

I hate folks who keep declaring stuff like this is a waste of money, and how all funding should be dropped.

Humans are natural explorers. We have been since we've existed. Space exploration is vital if we want to keep our species going in a positive direction. I love this stuff, and I can't wait to see how things evolve over the decades. :)

Same here! I get really tired of the endless arguments that we should fix everything on this planet first before we bother with space, or that all space travel is a hoax, or some psuedoscience drivel. ^^()

We *NEED* to get out there, and needed to do so decades ago. :p

Personally, I'm a big fan of space exploration, but I've been far more impressed with the results we've got from robotic explorers. Robots have managed to explore far more places and far more thoroughly than we ever did with human spaceflight for an equivalent price tag. Human space exploration is exciting and challenging, sure, but mostly for its own sake--not as much for the sake of learning about our solar system.

Oh aye, robotic missions have definitely provided a lot of information. I figure if we send people out, it should be to build colonies. :3
