Having issues today. I'd made up my mind that I was going to look for a job as a marketing assistant, to build on the marketing/PR experience I have and work my way up a little bit. I've pretty much bagged history/museums as a vocation, and marketing was the 2nd thing I was most qualified for, that I enjoy, that I'm good at

well... it sounds like your skillset is also geared toward something like development in the not-for-profit field... "helping organizations" need marketing as well, and doing the work that gets them teh money that keep sthem afloat is certainly important, helping work.

there are plently of ways to apply marketing towards humanitarian ends. that said, even if you got a job that was not directly humanitarian, that's still very much valid. as long as you believe in the field you work in, you should be good to go.
