So we've managed to decrypt these pictorial evidence. I think this is a fan site to the Japanese animations of the time. The letterings to the side are definitely Japanese characters (or so Hector (HJP-Goju) says, and he worked for Toyota for before coming to InfoCorp). And the pictures at the top seem to be professionally rendered animation. It looks almost like the predecessor of todays clips.
Perhaps this was the origin of clips as we know it? The style seems to be somewhat similar, and we can assume that only fairly knowledgeable adults had the ability to have access to the Geocities. Notice the Title: The Imaginary Darkness. I can only imagine what they are referring to. Probably something scandalous. Also we see very specific wording on the side:
- horry pottar
- anirne
- bonds (perhaps governments bonds?)
- actors / movies (the less adult themed type things.... maybe more family and children friendly)
- avatars (maybe 3-D? We know they had virtual worlds even as far back as the turn of the 21st century)
wallpaper (This seems disturbing that they would paper their walls with this sort of materials, but it is the Golden Age, they were far more tolerant of those types of things back then) - buttons (Perhaps this Geocity architect had a store? For wallpaper and buttons... I am not quite sure, but with a little more digging I think we can turn this speculation into a story!
- sequests
The far right seems to be advertisements. Its nice to know that despite the amazing culture of the period, we can also see some of the emergence of the noise cloud. And that we can readily blame Industries Unlimited (Google) for powering it. They really are an evil company, even back then.
