Looking for personal reasons...

for/against the Health Care plan. I keep hearing people say they don't want the health care reform package passed, but most of the response don't give personal reasons why they are against it. So I want everyone that reads this to post some personal reasons for or against health care reforms

I don't have any personal stories, besides the ridiculous amount of money everything medical costs, even after insurance. It annoys me to pay so much to an insurance company, and still have to pay more whenever you need something. It's not a good deal. :P Luckily, I've almost always been quite healthy, and we've been able to handle the charges that have come up. The one area of health care I'd be really interested in personally, homebirth coverage, isn't likely to get better for a while, I don't think.

All that is just minor annoyance compared with other people's stories, though. I've heard from too many people who can barely scrape by under the current system. People with children with a permanent medical condition, for example - even with insurance and a decent job, they barely keep their heads above water.

As I've said elsewhere, in my mind it boils down to a pretty simple question - whether people's heath and survival is more important than money, or not.
