Hell Has Frozen Over

More than one sketchblog in a one-month period? Inconceivable!

Had to make the companion piece for Cammy & Zoe's pics from the last post. This would be Shoumi, with her as-yet unnamed extendable battleaxe/warhammer. Currently I'm thinking 'Tisiphone,' one of the Greek Furies. Or maybe Seraphim. I do not know. I drew her axe wrong, anyways, the blade attaches to the handle differently. That's what I get for not looking at my reference pictures.

Doing 'panel tests'for the eventual comic. This would be part of the first chapter, where Shoumi and Cammy would show off their fighting skills. I can already see spots for improvement, such as bringing the hands closer to the foreground, enlarging them and making them more dynamic (hopefully you can tell that she's just caught both punches from off-panel dude).
Shoumi's Cleavage of Doom: If you're close enough to see it, it's already too late.

More panel tests and practice with perspective, featuring Cammy. The super-acrobatic fighting style I have in mind for her is very fun to draw! Hence, lots of side doodles. The guy in the upper corner is being lectured for trying to bring a gun to a sword fight.

Also, you can see on the bottom the reason for my upswing in sketches: my bud got me a funny-cat-a-day calendar for Christmas (she knows me well), and the torn-off pages make for great scrap paper! Now I don't have to doodle on my work desk anymore.

A rough sketch of a piece I'd like to do of Toph, my favorite character from Avatar (no, no, the other Avatar). Weirdly colored because it was originally drawn on orange paper and altered in Photoshop. It's always annoyed me when people draw blind fighters with their eyes focused on their enemy. Someone who was blind from birth wouldn't turn their eyes towards their enemy. Their ears, maybe. I'd like to do a picture showing that.
