I didn't know you work for a newspaper, Tommy! Me too! I like your headline better than ours...Ours was "It's Obama!" Blah. But our sister paper (that I also work for) had the headline "44th. 1st." which I thought was kinda cool.
Thanks, Piney! What do you do for those two papers? Is this a part-time gig until you go off to grad school?
I am a journalism lifer, it would appear. I am the news editor of The Journal Times. We're a 30,000 daily in Racine, Wis., a small city sandwiched between Milwaukee and Chicago.
"44th. 1st." That is cool! It's the first one I've seen that I've liked almost as much as mine. ;-)

It's full-time. I've worked there for a little over three years. My job is complicated to say the least: My official title is online advertising manager (that part's pretty self-explanatory), but I also coordinate special projects (mostly marketing-related stuff, community events, etc.). Plus, I'm the backup paginator when our regular paginator is out of the office, so I actually work with our news editor a lot. Basically, I'm a Jack (Jane?) of all trades.
Your circulation is bigger than both my papers put together! I work for The Lufkin Daily News (Lufkin, TX) and The Daily Sentinel (Nacogdoches, TX). We're 17,000 and 11,000 respectively.
Somehow, I missed all of this....(adds to behind-feeling)...how awesome is that?!? I'd definitely get it framed. I mean, think about what it will mean to your daughters. It would preservea personal connection to history that is rare and wonderful. :-)

You've got numerous and varied lines for your resume there. That can only be beneficial for whatever you do next, I'd say. :-)
