Tangible results, damn right. That's one reason I didn't like doing research much, it seemed so pointless, especially as I wasn't clever enough to do anything useful. I'd like to be an electrical engineer and a chef and a mechanic and a plumber... and a footballer of course.

I expect they would have done today if their arm hadn't swelled up overnight and they hadn't therefore had to sod off to Papworth again, to have their shoulder ultrasounded, be patronised by a welshman, and be told it's thrombophlebitis and nothing to worry my - sorry, their - pretty little head about.
