I read something similar in Newsweek but they left out The Stranger. Although they added "a biography of Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atom bomb who later became a pacifist and a victim of the anti-communist witch-hunt." Precious. And I know that his image-makers want to counter the "dumb" label but if he's actually simultaneously reading two biographies of Lincoln, one of Oppenheimer and one of Roberto Clemente with a little existentialist fiction squeezed in--that is when he's not hitting the singletrack on his mountain bike--when the fuck is this guy presidenting?
I would gladly introduce him to Franz Fanon, particularly "The Wretched of the Earth." But then there's that troublesome part when Fanon lived in Algeria with all them A-rabs. And besides, Bushie would probably think that Fanon was a terrorist. As one does.
