Massive DVD Haul

So, Surround Sounds in Nedlands is closing down their DVD library and had a huge sale yesterday to offload all their rentals. After an hour or so wading through people to access the shelves, not to mention 90 mins or so in a gigantic queue, here's what I managed to pick up ( Read more... )

(I find myself now evaluating DVDs and asking "Can I watch this in DVD or will I need it in Blu Ray?"

Some of those I'd definitely want them in Blu Ray :-) )

The few on the list that I've (a) seen and (b) think are fairly bad are:

History of the World, Part 1
Resident Evil
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (if it's the Burton version - the old one's pretty good)

There are a number on the list that I'll never see because I'm guessing they're crap, and a few that I haven't seen but have heard are good :o

It's pretty sad that a place with that many dvds is not having them anymore? I kind of like renting dvds.

It is a shame. Now I have to rent at Blockbuster. And nobody wants to rent at Blockbuster.

Oh they are not renting anymore? NOBODY mentioned that until now :-) I was wondering why the swag was so good.

Hmmm, will have to cross out the 'close to .. DVD store' on our ad for the apartment :-)
