Thomas was still on extended leave from the force. Heaven above only knew how much vacation time he had accrued since he rarely took any time off at all in the past. He had four months left from his six month leave and he was spending it right here in Superior, Arizona. Mary was just barely recovering and Catherine, as well, was just getting back

Thomas crushed his cigarette into the concrete beneath him and went back inside to answer the phone. Maybe he should get with the world and get a cell phone, but he saw no reason to do so at all.

"Yeah, hey, it is and good. I'm out here in Arizona and I have plenty of room if you are able to come visit. We can talk more then on what we were discussing, if you wish. Or ...you could just come out to enjoy the desert air." Calloused hands fiddled with some papers nearby, while he eyeballed the book he had held onto for so long.

"A day or so would be fine. Nothing going on here, unless you count the gasoline truck coming in to fill up the local gas station and half days all week at the school." Oh yea, it was just a bustling little town, Thomas chuckled to himself, perfectly content to never leave until he had to return to work.

"Take your time. Try to get a flight arriving in the morning and I can fire up the grill for a mid afternoon barbecue."
