Oh man.

You have always been such a brave girl. I would never be able to move to Europe. Abe is still holding out hope that one day I'll move to New York with him for about a year. Only a year! But I don't do it. I just don't want to live there.

If you weren't looking for advice then go ahead and ignore the following! ;-)

While it's totally true that you guys have to find a place to live that has good opportunities for Vegard, too. However, you've been living in Oslo for a while, and that is a place that doesn't really afford you any opportunities anymore. At least not any that you want. Vegard needs to understand that you are now making a major sacrifice for him and that he is not doing the same for you. You are not the only one who needs to compromise. Remember to protect yourself as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing you this winter and Vegard too!

An entry for moi, Ann, and some other random people?? How lovely! /the old lady from About A BoyI'm sorry you've come to a bummy realisation about Oslo. Not that I've lived anywhere other than Renton (and if Seattle counts...), but I can at least say for myself that I think I'd get more than a little homesick being away from home on a semi-permanent basis. I also think I would get a little worn out being in the same place for too long. And, you know, some places just don't tune your kazoo, or whatever phrase I could've alternatively used. I think you felt a lot more excitement living in France, maybe because it's just a more colorful place, or it inspired you, or you felt some life-long passion was drawing you there. But it doesn't necessarily mean you want to spend the rest of your life there either ( ... )
