All right, I think it might be a little soon to stop the pain medication. I am continuing to improve but that improvement brings other problems along with it. I will skip the details since none of it's pretty.

All right, I had to take another nap today because I was groggy as all get out. I think I am done with the Percocet because the pain has (mostly) died out. I think the only thing the Percocet is doing now is making me drowsy. I think ice can handle the pain now. I am making progress faster than the doctor said I would. Well, it's just about time to put on my "nice clothes" for my interview. Please remember not to wish me good luck since that always seems to invite the worst. Oy vey, I woke up absolutely miserable. Breathing through my mouth has made my tongue all hard and brushing only helped a little. The pain was almost unbearable until my Percocet kicked in. I am pleasantly surprised by the Percocet since nothing ever seems to work for me. It dulls the pain even if it doesn't do anything about the burning ( Read more... )

I'm really starting to feel the hurt but I know it's worth it so I don't really mind that much. You know how I'm always quoting Duran Duran by saying, "Don't say a prayer for me now; save it 'til the morning after"? Well, I think this is that morning after. Fortunately, the pain is bearable. This will soon be nothing more than a memory.

I love the new Bruce Springsteen album. It's the first Springsteen CD I've ever owned. Lesley bought it for me 'cause I'm a big baby and need all the comfort I can get after my surgery. Holy wah! This has been quite an experience. When they first gave me the Verced®, I was afraid that the intubation was going to be a bitch. After I got settled on the operating table and they administered oxygen, I joked about wanting nitrous and then I was in recovery.
