printer failure excepted, was it easy to set up? and how did you go about getting software that works with it/is at least vaguely compatible with what windows folk use? i've kind of been intending for a while to suss it out, primarily so that i am able to say the 'windows' and 'microsoft' etc with more disdain.

It's easy enough to get the basics running, and the packages that you get with the distribution I'm using (called "Suse", backed by Novell) are really very good - eg. there's Open Office and good multimedia/CD burning things.

Having said that, I need to work out how to print, how to get more resolution on the monitor and how to get the CD burner to respond...
